How to delete your account
You delete your Moatgator account, or an organization you own, yourself in the console. Nothing is deleted on the spot: it is deactivated for 14 days so you can change your mind, and then the data is deleted for good.
Delete your account
- Sign in to the console at app.moatgator.com.
- Open Settings › Profile and choose Delete my account.
- Check what happens to each of your organizations: the ones where you are the sole member are deleted with the account; you leave the others.
- Confirm with your password (or sign in again with your social login) and, if you use two-factor authentication, the code.
Delete an organization
- Only an owner can delete an organization. Export its events first, if you need them, from the same screen.
- Open Settings › Organization and choose Delete organization.
- Type the organization name and confirm with your password and, with two-factor authentication, the code.
If an organization has other members and no other owner, transfer the ownership before deleting your account.
What happens in the 14 days
- Your account is deactivated at once: you are signed out everywhere and nobody can sign in to it.
- For an organization, the subscription is canceled at once, all API keys and app public keys are revoked (protected apps stop sending events) and members lose access.
- We email you a receipt, in your language, with a link to undo the deletion. Undoing it restores the same keys; a canceled subscription does not come back, so you choose a plan again.
- After 14 days the account, the organization and their data are deleted for good, and we email you the final receipt.
What we keep, and why
- Invoices and tax documents (NFS-e), for the period the tax law requires, with no link to the deleted account or organization.
- Entries about you in the audit trail of organizations you were part of and that still exist, until that trail's retention period ends.
- If you asked us to stop emailing you, the record of that request, so we keep honoring it.

Using an app protected by Moatgator?
Moatgator does not create accounts for the people who use our customers' apps. To delete your data in one of those apps, contact the company that publishes it; we help them as a processor.
